Russo’s Coal Fired Italian Kitchen Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Russos opens at 11:00 for lunch, I arrive at 11:30 to an empty restaurant. We look over the menu for a while and I decide to order the pizza, I've heard that it's very good, it's what they're known for, right? The server tells me " we don't have pizza today, you're going to ha e to order something else" Why would an Italian restaurant not have pizza available? Bad first impression. I ordered a panini sandwich and a salad. She brought the garlic rolls to us and they were hard.

I have visited this place several times. The pizza, baked ziti and salads are good. The waitress Brenda is very nice and attentive.

Love this restaurant!! My favorite Italian place to eat!!! Their Mediterranean salad and focassia bread are delicious!!

Wow let me tell you. Someone coming from Coral Gables where they are well known for having many Italian restaurants. I think I have found my new favorite Italian restaurant. I ordered the pizza and it is amazing - especially the sauce. My brother ordered the chicken parm pasta and it was on point as well. The baked ziti dish was also delicious. I think we ordered too much because their portions are generous. They have so many choices to choose from so I will definitely be coming back!

As a person who was there when Anthony opened his restaurant overseas in Dubai, this branch disappointed my family and I. The garlic rolls were given to us cold. The salads had brown, fraying lettuce leaves, and the pizza did not have Anthony's famous touch to it. It was cold and disappointing. The Salads had zero flavor. The feta cheese that was crumbled over top had no flavor either. I felt like someone put together cucumbers, onions, olives & olive oil and served it to me. That's not a Greek Salad. I don't know why our food was terrible that day, given it wasn't very busy & it was raining so hard nobody could get in the restaurant anyway. I do give props to the waitress, though. She was sweet and accommodating. Thank you for your patience.

The food is ok. The service is good. But oh my god, this place is deafeningly loud. Louder than the last concert I went to. It's nice to have an "open" floor plan, but at least put some noise dampeners in the ceiling or something. I should not have to shout across the table to my wife to be heard. Or to the server when I attempt to order my food. Food - 3.5/5 stars Service - 4/5 stars Noise - minus 2 stars

Honesty I was a bit skeptical about Russo's. Reason being, my heart is with Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. I kept on reading reviews and was won over. The meal began with their garlic bread OMG! Best garlic rolls I've ever had! Seriously that good! I ate at-least 3; hey who's keeping count? We ordered the one with ricotta but our waitress brought is the wrong one. When we told her about it she was completely polite about it and gave us the original one for free so we got two pizzas! Both were delicious! Had pizza for leftovers and tasted just as good if not better! Will definitely dine again!

My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant today, we had fried proshutto and mozzarella for appetizer, and for main dish lasagna and a mozzarella and arugula sandwich. The apetizer was tasty, the lasagna average and the sandwich tasteless. The service not that great, we spent an hour and just to order almost 15 min. ( the restaurant was not busy at the time we where there)

  • Allen C.

Horrible. Service is very slow and it seems every time we go, there are at least 3 people standing around trying to look busy. There were open tables and tables needing to be cleaned while we were waiting for 15 minutes. We ended up leaving. Customer service is severely lacking!

Good consistent Italian food. Chicken parm was tasty. Service is good. Food was quick.

I really enjoy Russo's! One of the best things about this place is their customer service. I always have my large events here birthdays, team celebrations, etc. and they're always very accommodating and friendly. I think the best thing on their menu is their spinach artichoke dip that they make with alfredo sauce and serve piping hot. It is absolutely delicious! Their pasta isn't too great yet but the pizza is definitely worth a try. Will be going back!

This is as good as it gets. Huge menu. Great service Amazing food. The garlic rolls were on our table immediately when we sat down. They were some of the best I've ever had. Give this place a try. You won't be sorry.

Came in around lunch time. Seated right away. The wait staff was friendly and on the spot. Only eaten here once, so can not comment on the entire menu. My dish " fettuccine w/chicken" was very good and served in a very reasonable amount of time. I would eat here again for sure.

Great pizza - had the artichoke, roast garlic and Alfredo. Rolls are soft and yummy. Pretty good wine selection

Ok, let me start off by saying I'm only giving this place 3 stars because of multiple experiences here. If I was writing this review based off of my past experience, it would get 2 stars. The staff is usually pretty friendly but last time I was there, the lady who served us was just OK. I got a combo with a slice of Mulberry pizza which was HUGE but pretty good. Unfortunately, it upset my stomach. It wasn't very busy during lunch and we were seated immediately, so I guess that's a plus.

  • Kim C.

I have had better. I don't think I would visit Russo's again. Even if someone else was paying. It just wasn't for me. I had the Lasagna and a couple of slices of cheese and they were both tasteless. It just didn't have that wow factor.... AT All! I'm sorry Russo's I really wanted to come away with a great experience.

As per wife: Best gluten free pizza around. Complimentary warm garlic rolls destroy your appetite as I can't stop eating them. The "regular" pizza is very good too. Pastas I tried could have used a bit more seasoning but still pretty good.

When I walked in...I really wanted it to be great food...but after tasting the garlic bread I knew! So the food is not bad...it's just not Great! It's one of those places that has average good for average prices. Service was really quick and there was a very friendly staff. we had the gnocchi with meat sauce, the chicken with mushroom flat bread sandwhich and the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. All were ok. Would I be back??? probably not :(

Russo's Coal Fired Italian Kitchen is a chain from New York and although New York is known for their pizza, I was still a little bit iffy but willing to check it out. Service was adequate; nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. That is all I need anyways, just bring me my food and I am good. The bread was different than the normal and we happened to get a fresh batch so it was quite good. All Russo's pastas are made fresh in their kitchen so I was excited to try one of the dishes out. I had a penne pasta that was perfectly al dente (although someone else may feel it is slightly undercooked). It was so delicious and so amazingly good. I wasn't expecting it and so it really knocked my socks off. Pizza cannot be passed up at a place that serves coal fire pizza, so we ordered the New York Village. It was hot out of the oven, made with a nice thinner and crispier crust, fresh ingredients and a nice homemade sauce. It was quite good.

This restaurant has nice servers for the most part. The food is nothing outstanding really. It has good pizza. It's a place that's worth a shot but not one that'll be memorable. They are pretty accommodating with groups of 10 or so. It is a family oriented restaurant, so that's cool:-)

What the.....?? Wife and I came by for a early dinner after looking at houses all day long... Around 6:00 p.m. only a few tables were taken so I figured we could have a decent meal in a short period of time. We ordered the Mozarella sticks and to our surprise they arrived at our table in less than five minutes. This got me wondering how many microwaves do they have back there. Well we took a bite out of one and once again the same issue from our first visit here " there cold in the middle". Ten minutes later our main courses came out. I had the Spaghetii and Meatballs and my wife had the Chicken Parm. Let's here it for those microwaves... woohoo..... Spaghetti was cold and the Meatballs were tasteless. My Wifes Chicken parm was also tasteless. So dissapointing. The prices were also kinda of on the high side. Approximately $60.00 (no Alcohol) With all the choices in this area we will not be returning. What a let down.

I've never been dissapointed by Russo's. Its also one of our go-to restaurants on our lazy, no-cooking weekend line up. I love their neopolitan style pizzas. My favorite is the prociutto and arugula with riccotta. Definately a unique combination, but so good. The meatballs are delicious, too. The house wine is about $5/glass which is not too shabby. I've never tried their entrees except for a kids mac n cheese after my son did not finish his and it was quite tasty. Last time I saw they added calzones and panini's to the menu, so I have to make it a point to try those next time. Overall, Russo's makes me happy..good pizza..good wine..I'm really simple to please :)

My husband and I walked here for lunch today. Service was great, food was great and the atmosphere was great. I got chicken pram with gnocchi instead of spaghetti and it was really good. I swear it was even better as a leftover. My husband got a create your own calzone and really enjoyed it. There were about three different people serving us it seemed. One helped with refills. One helped with the bread. Another bagged our leftovers. A little odd but appreciated and they were all very friendly and helpful. We just moved nearby and will be back regularly as we had a very positive experience here. :)

Russo's has really good food, everything that I've tried have been delicious! Enjoy!!

  • Lloyd L.

Not very busy, easily accommodated on a Friday evening. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, ended up coming after the entrees were served, thats a BIG no no! Not sure i who is to blame for that mistake. It was good nonetheless. Had a simple spaghetti in meat sauce and meatballs as an entree, it was decent, nothing to rave about. Then had the red velvet cake for dessert, it wasn't very moist or fluffy and had some chocolate sauce garnishing, maybe to hide what its lacking. Overall if I had a choice between going back or to a Italian restaurant I haven't been to, I'd be trying someplace new that night.

  • Carla M.

Chicken wings are super yummy! Friendly staff. The pizza is awesome. I've been here on several occasions and I haven't had a pizza I didn't like. One of the very very few good restaurants in Pines. A must go if you're in the area. :)

    (5)
  • David K.

Their pizza is very good. The eggplant parmigiana (both the dinner and the sandwich) are fantastic. Their pesto is creamy and my kids love it. Many of the other dishes are very good. But on a recent visit, we tried the chicken Marsala and it was just okay - not enough of the tartness from the lemon and a little oily. But I'd still rate it 5 stars - overall the meal was very good.

Considering that western Broward's dining options are basically choosing between chains, Russo's works well enough. I had a spicy shrimp pasta for $8.99 for lunch and it was tasty and filling. DC had a huge slice of pizza, which he liked. We had to move tables because roof (on a sunny day) suddenly started dripping water on our table, but that was a momentary annoyance.

I'm waffling between a 3 and 4, and really wished Yelp allowed 1/2 stars. But I'm going to conservatively give 3 stars, with hopefully having the chance to come back and boost it up. My caprese salad would garner a higher rating by itself since I like the sweet balsamic vinegar in which it was served. The basil leaves, mozzarella and tomatoes also were fresh to the taste. However, the fact that it was out if sequence (I had to remind the server about said salad when my pizza arrived) costs it a star. Next I ordered their medium Hawaiian pizza (the best style of pizza if you ask me :) Presented nicely with fresh basil shavings, a decent spread of marinara sauce and not scrimping on toppings, I can say I enjoyed it. I suppose it could have been a touch thinner crust or crisper but that'd be called being picky. Soda refills were prompt and the wait staff pleasant with a decent weekend crowd.

  • Felicia R.

Husband suggested we try since it's very close to home, it's always packed on the weekends. On a Saturday at 5pm, not busy at all and seated quickly. Calamari apprise was good was very small portion. Garlic rolls were good. My side salad was ehhh nothing to go crazy about. We went with the Manhattan pizza ( steak and white onions) and slices are pretty big and I enjoyed it very much. I really become stuffed and couldn't try a dessert (nutella donuts sounded amazing). I will like to return and try the soups and other dishes.

This place is great. Service is wonderful and Nick our waiter was wonderful. I had the spicy shrimp pasta with salad and a slice of pizza the size of a godzilla. The place is clean service friendly and helpful. Good customer service. Food is good.

Very good crust on both the NY and brick oven pizza. Prices are reasonable, portions of appetizers a bit small. Overall good, lots of parking.

I live in the Pines area and have been wanting to come eat at this place for a while. Luck would have it that a Groupon deal would become available for this place so I decided to finally go. Walking up to the restaurant we were promptly greeted by the manager who opened the door for us. It was a Thursday afternoon around 5:30pm. The inside of the restaurant was clean and well lit. It was basically empty by the time we arrived; save for probably 1 or 2 other people so we got to sit anywhere we wanted. We decided to make our own New York Style Pizza. We opted for the large ( 8 slices). My sister and I did half and half. She did half mushroom and sausage and my half was Hawaiian (FYI - the Canadian bacon is considered "ham"; and it really does look and taste like a delicious piece of ham; doesn't look like bacon). Also, I had read a previous review that you have to request cheese on the pizza because they don't automatically add it, but that wasn't the case for us. Wait time for our pizza to arrive was about 10-15 minutes since the restaurant was not busy. Once the pizza arrived, we tore that thing apart! It was very very good pizza. Not too doughy or saucy. The crust was just the right amount of crispy and the distribution of the toppings was on point. My sister loved it and she's a semi-picky eater. We also decided to have dessert. We tried the Oreo Cheesecake. The slice is definitely big enough to share between 2 people. It's was delicious; soft and creamy with Oreo cookie crumbs completely covering the top and bottom. Just the right amount of sweetness to complete our meal. The only negative part of my experience was that we didn't get served the complimentary bread that other customers have mentioned. While we were there the restaurant started getting busier and it seemed that everyone else that was getting seated (about 4 other groups) received their complimentary bread. Also, it is a bit on the pricey side so the Groupon came a long way for us. My total was only about $6 (not including tip). Of course, I didn't let this small mishap cloud over the fact that the food was good and the service was fine. I would come back (preferably with another Groupon) to try more of their meals.

This place is seriously the best Italian place I've been to in S. Florida. First off, the ambiance: classy, trendy, while still giving a casual vibe. The food: we've ordered a few pizzas, pasta and chicken wings for the times we visited. The pasta with mushroom was so good we wanted to lap the plate clean. For pizza we like the Soho version of building our own. It's really a head above the other pizza places. The ingredients used are nice quality, and that really makes the difference. Nicely crisped dough. As for the chicken wings: my boyfriend like this more, while I prefer Anthony's with the onions and what not. Best of all, the service: we have been there a few times and the wait staff is first class friendly and efficient!

We enjoy Russo's. We have dinner there 2 to 3 times a month. Everything is fresh. If you don't want a lot of garlic, you don't have to have it. My husband loves the egg plant Parmesan. I love the kale salad with pancetta and jumbo shrimp. And they made me my own pasta dish. I requested several ingredients from different dishes and it was yummy!

  • Daddi L.

The food was delectable the pizza was made great with the crust being baked to perfection. However the great food overshadowed by the horrible service, took us 12 minutes for the hostess to come over and offer us water after she sat us. A total of 19 minutes after arrival the server came up and got our order, not only did she not introduce herself but her table side manner was deplorable the appetizers were brought out at same time as our meal, never got any refills, and just amazed by the way the staff in general is so unorganized. This place was a true let down.

Worst experience I've had in a ling time. The dining room was dirty, paper and bits of food everywhere, a light layer of grease covered our table. And the service and food were sub par. If you want coal fired Italian make the trip to Anthony's instead.

I welcome with open arms any new restaurant that opens near my home. Finally, my area is getting it together and not making me venture long distances for good food. I have to say I was impressed by Russo's. Here's why: 1-the prosciutto appetizer. You have not lived if you haven't tired this. 2- the chicken wings. I am not a chicken wings type of girls but these were delish!! Grilled to perfection with delicious sauce. 3- THE PIZZA. Once every 2 weeks I allow myself some carbs. I save these special days for restaurants that I know will deliver. Russo's was doubtful because no one has review it yet and well they are new. But OMG did they deliver. Our pizza had cheese, mushrooms, garlic and spinach. Awesome is an understatement. The staff was friendly. We were seated right away. I told the waitress I was starving and magically one of my appetizer's appeared WITH my drinks. I was happy. What I didn't like and why not 5 stars. My bill!! We spent a pretty penny and didn't even have drinks with our meal. Just water!! No me gusta.

Great Italian Food and Coal Fired Pizza. Great location in pines right off from I-75. We were greeted at the door with a friendly smile and seated in a booth immediately. The meatball parmesan sandwich is amazing and love the coal fired pizzas every time we go they are delicious. We also enjoyed the baked ziti and the black truffle saccheletti are amazing. Don't forget to order the oreo cheesecake it's a perfect ending to a perfect dinner. We are hooked and regulars here.

The service was most important. Our waiter Giovanni could not be more adorable and accommodating. Lucie had the Past Pomodoro and I had the Spinach and Artichoke Pizza - both dishes were fresh and super tasty. Great spot for the family. Economical!! To all my Pembroke Pines and Miramar neighbors - go check out Russo's! Oh yeah, parking is no issue. It is in the Whole Foods plaza.

I yelped some restaurants in the area I was staying in for work and Russo's popped up. I thought, "Hey, the reviews are good and the pizza sounds great - let's give it a shot." I am so GLAD that we did! All of the food was so good - I literally couldn't stop eating it. Garlic Knots - soft, doughy, and full of flavor - seasoned perfectly and drizzled with olive oil. They are where it's at. Roasted Prosciutto - layers of prosciutto baked over fresh mozzarella. If you like cheese and you like meat, just go ahead and order this. It's almost like a crispy bacon texture with cheese oozing out. It's a tad bit salty, but that shouldn't shy you away from ordering this amazing appetizer. Spano pizza (three toppings of your choice) - ordered the Spano pizza with Canadian bacon, black olives, and pineapple. This was seriously the best Canadian bacon I have ever had. The sauce was light and tasty, as well; the crust was thin and crispy. I highly, highly recommend any of the pizzas with the red sauce - you will not be disappointed. I had a really good experience at this restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely be making a trip back to Russo's.

Food was unexpectedly pretty good!!!! Our waiter, Ozzie, was incredibly helpful to us newcomers, and very sweet. Everyone receives their garlic bread, and it is very good considering it's complimentary. The Cesar salad was exquisite.

The food here is way too salty; I felt bloated after eating here. The staff were friendly, but both the hostess and waitress were clumsy. I notified the hostess about a spill on the floor by our table, and she just giggled. Our waitress mixed our check with the table next to ours, so they ended up paying less for their food.

Bought a groupon worth $30, still ended up paying about $34 after. The pizza is good, but overpriced.

Great food. Great service. Go for the daily special or egg plant parm. Oreo cheesecake is yummy if you are the cheesecake type. Owners are so nice and check on our table. I went with a large group (18 people) for dinner and they staff handled everything well. Family-feel restaurant with a full bar as a plus. Anxious to back a try the coal fired pizza!

  • Lulu G.

Great food odd service. However, I am not sure my pasta was fresh. I should have known something was up when the waiter stated "sorry for the delay, angel hair takes longer to cook". Any foodie would know that's not true. Restaurants that serve fresh pasta are a rare find, which is why I was quite disappointed when I bit into the fresh pasta impostor. Maybe they ran out but they could have been a little more honest with me. Other than that the sauce passed my test. The pizza and garlic rolls are baked to perfection!

    (4)
  • Glenda F.

The rolls are to die for!!!!!!!!! The sangria was one of the best I've had in a long time. My calzone was delicious. I highly recommend this place and I could see this place being a regular place for me. I was not disappointed at all. The pasta dishes that others had were also delicious. Location for this place is great. The lighting for this place was a bit too bright, but I guess that's just my preference. The service was great. I highly recommend this place.

Saturday afternoon and this place was sort of empty. I'm a huge fan of coal fired pizza and so I didn't care and gave it a shot anyways. This place is fairly new, located in the same plaza as Whole Foods. I was dining alone and they don't offer the small, individual size pizza so I ordered a deli sandwich called the Arugula & Caprese sandwich. I really liked it. If you like fresh mozzarella, you will love this sandwich. Served on a foccacia type bread...this thing was huge!! Thick slices of fresh mozzarella drizzled in olive oil, fresh cracked pepper, sea salt, and italian herbs with plump tomato slices, red onion and fresh crisp arugula. The entire sandwich was topped with parmesan cheese but there was also garlic and lots of it. I don't know if they used a garlic spread or if the olive oil was infused with garlic but my breath was HOT after I ate this thing...not complaining though! Lol! The place is nice and sits on the corner near the Mexican place. The staff was nice and my waitress Shammes, was attentive but not overly. She didn't seem very knowledgable of the menu so I ordered this sandwich kind of blindly. Glad it was a good call! The next time I visit...because there will be a next time, I will try one of their pizzas! Can't wait!

Wow, you can never go wrong coming to Russo's. Their chicken wings are amazing. Service was wonderful as well as their entrees of chicken picatta & spaghetti de mare. We arrived close to closing time & we still had a great meal.

Decided to try this place out with the family and overall I think it's slightly above average. Love the modern atmosphere, menus, and creativity. They gave us free bread that was like small pieces or pizza dough seasoned with olive oil, rosemary, salt, pepper and some other ingredients. This was delicious. Our Caesar salads came out with tasted at room temp, and I thought it would of been perfect have it been slightly chilled. We ordered a margarita pizza, which was ok, but something was missing. Maybe it needed to be more charred since they claim it's a 1000 degree coal oven. Could of fooled me. Then we shared a plate of spagetti and meatballs that tasted pretty bland. Could of has more sauce with more flavor. Overall, it's a nice place but nothing i would crave to go back. I think that's what there missing.(giving customers that satisfied feeling) ps: overall price was pretty cheap, around 40.00 for 2-1/2

I was eagerly waiting the opening of this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Reasons why I like it: 1. Great pizza. Loved the coal-fired pizza. I don't like to compare but if you like Anthony's, it's just as good and with more choices of toppings. My favorite so far has been the heart healthy. 2. Variety: love the fact that they also have good pasta if someone in your party is not in the mood for pizza. Have tried the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and Shrimp Tortellini so far and they where both good. I look forward to trying their other pastas. 3. Large kids meals: My son had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was a pretty good portion and tasty....he approved. 4. Good desert: liked the italian wedding cake (not sure if that was the name exactly) Room for improvement: 1. Not a big fan of the calamari appetizer...it was pretty chewy 2. Run out of wines....I have been there on several occasions and they are always out of the chardonnay I want (La Crema) 3. The sauce in the Fra Diavolo was a little spicy for my taste. 4. No coloring mats or activities for kids....It's tough to eat with kids when they are not entertained. All in all I still really like this place. The waiters are patient and friendly. I look forward to trying more of their dishes as they have a wide variety including salads, sandwiches, soups and pastas. In five words: Friendly Italian with diverse menu.

10 people of my office came to Russos for a birthday lunch and we were greatly impressed by the decoration and looks of the place. The menu is not only pizza, they do also have a good variety of pastas, pizzas, strombolis and good choices as dessert. Our server was very nice and she took our order fast but it took so long to bring our drinks and bread. The food was very good even when it took some time (5-8 mins) once the food came out of the kitchen to be delivered to our table. We saw it and were wondering where our server was and then we noticed it was the only one server for the restaurant. There is another person who seems to be the manager but he is most of his time in the kitchen (same thing for the server) hence there's no one around in the restaurant floor when you need something or at least to keep our party with drinks refilled and bread restocket while we wait for the food. I'm sensitive to the fact that probably a Wednesday at lunch time could be slow and you can not afford to have 2-3 servers but definitively this is an important gap that will make me consider a next visit.

Garlic bread is like a big bun, crunchy and hot. I like sitting at the bar, no wait. You can to see them work on pizza. I love the neapolitan pizza with arugula and ricotta. The taste of the ricotta is amazing. Thin crust, crunchy on ends.

Went to Russo's with the family..The air conditioner was really cold - but when the food came it warmed us up! We started with some fried calamari appetizers, really good by the way. Then I order a beer and pasta di mari (seafood) plate. It was pretty good but my expectations were higher. The pizza was GREAT! recommend it to anyone coming here. The server was attentive at the beginning but towards the end, he never came to check up on us and we waited a good time until we went up to him and asked him for the bill.

I really liked the food and fast service in this restaurant, but the atmosphere was just the best part. If there were a way to make a bit cozier that would make it even better because when crowded it is a quite noisy and intrusive with so many people around you.

First time at this restaurant. I like the decor inside. The big long window seat was a plus. Our hostess and server were both very friendly. Once we were seated, someone has already brought us garlic rolls (which I thought would taste better if they were hot and fresh). The kitchen service was definitely slow and it was not a busy night. There were about six tables. We ordered the coal fired buffalo wings and those were okay. I have had better. The tomato basil soup is a must get. It was delicious.

Food was great but the service was a bit slow. The food did not come out all at the same time and the garlic rolls came with dinner.

Great pizza. Awesome cucumber salad. Ozzie our server was very accommodating. We added a few extra people to our group and the staff was really good about it. Did I mention that the pizza was great? I will definitely be back!

been there twice, excellent service , excellent food, I'm a café owner and I want to buy this franchise when they decide to open more, I was anthony's fan, but these take my preference now because of the variety of the menu. my wife and kids just love it too.

First time here and from the beginning I was feeling the atmosphere. We were greeted immediately and asked for our seating preference which is always nice. It was freezing in our section, but the manager was very attentive and lowered the AC without us even asking. Ok on to the food, my girl ordered a Shrimp Pasta and I ordered a Veal/ Braised Beef Ravioli. When our plates arrived I usually give my girl a sample and she immediately noticed that my plate tasted like lobster! I'm highly allergic to all shellfish. We notified our server and he was just as surprised and very apologetic. The manager came to our table apologized and explained the mishap. She also offered dessert on the house. Very commendable, but giving the severity of what might have been I thought a free meal would have been more appropriate. Anyhow I had the Lasagna as a replacement and is rate it a 5/10. I don't think I'll return, but I will say the servers and staff were very friendly.

Been here a couple of times. First time service was ok and the chicken piccata came with only one small piece of chicken.. This last time I ordered take out and we ordered 4 meals to go.. Got home no soup, no rolls, no salad, no plastic ware , and my chicken piccata was soupy.. All in all it's ok.. If you want take out doughboys is much better..

A friend suggested I give Russo's a try and I was not disappointed. The decor is modern and super comfortable. I went on a Sunday night and we were seated immediately. Thats a rare thing in West Pines. The service was prompt, friendly, and very outgoing. We ordered a thin-crust brick oven pizza and it was delicious. The tomato sauce they use is something unique and tasted amazing. I look forward to returning and trying more items off their menu.

Garlic and home-made food heaven. Pizza, calamari, Greek salad and more. Go Chef Russo! The food is far better than the photos... Jumping scene.

After reading so many positive reviews we decided to give Russos a try. The food was very good. The pizza was a little slow coming out but tastes amazing. I would agree they have the best garlic rolls around! The service was very good and the staff stays on top of the table service. Great place for families or couples. It was very chilly so bring a sweater for the kids.

This restaurant has become our top favorite italian restaurant. We keep trying different items on the menu. The pizza is good..the garlic knots are excellent. We also had the cucumber salad very good, but add a bit of balsamic to add a zest . Love this place!

Great restaurant! I've been looking for a good Italian restaurant for a while, and I have officially found it. We had a large scrumptious Greek salad (the dressing was excellent), hot and steamy chicken wings (with tons of meat on them), and a delicious Manhattan, New York style, pizza. Even though this is a coal fired joint, they don't burn there food. This is a superb restaurant, and I recommend it to everyone.

I got a groupon for this restaurant on my email on Sunday afternoon and decided to give it a try, so I headed there with my wife around 630PM for dinner. The place looked clean and well lit, and it was actually pretty full, so that gave me a good vibe. The manager greeted us as soon as we walked in and we were quickly seated by the host. We were approached by our server Jack also pretty quickly and we ordered some drinks and some fried calamari to get us started, my wife and I love the calamari and we kinda have to try them whenever we visit a restaurant for the first time if in the menu, since everybody makes them differently. We were disappointed by the calamari, the order was ten bucks and brought few calamari and they were a bit rubbery and plain tasting. I had read in previous reviews that the complementary bread was pretty good so I was looking forward to that.....and it was true, the bread was fresh and had the right texture and flavor, we got three buns, and ended up asking our server Jack for more. Jack was great, brought us our appetizer, drinks and bread quickly and he had a great attitude, he welcomed us with a smile and asked if it was our first time visiting, also offered to answer any questions we may have had about the menu. As our main dish we ordered the Soho pizza and added Angus beef, Canadian bacon and fresh tomatoes as our toppings. The pizza took a bit long since they were running a bit behind at the oven, Jack was pretty apologetic about it and to be honest, it wasn't that long a time anyway. The pizza was really good, thin and crispy and the toppings were fresh and tasty, the only weird thing is the pizza does not come with cheese unless you asked for it, we assumed it did, but Jack was proactive to let us know and we asked for the cheese; you also get a choice of tomato sauce or garlic, we chose garlic for a change, and it was a good choice, it gave the pizza a good but different kind of flavor. The size was just right for my wife and I, we actually had three pieces left once we were satisfied...I'll be doing those for lunch time at work tomorrow. We ordered a tiramisu dessert which we took home and was pleasantly good flavored, to go perfectly with a cup of hot tea at home. All in all, the food was good our server was nice and provided us with great service, and the price just right thanks to the groupon, since I ended up saving just about the price of the calamari that we didn't really like. I would go back for another taste..

I give this a 3.5. The only reason I noticed this place because I go to whole foods frequently and this is right there so I wanted to check it out. I went there recently for a friends birthday. I had the chicken pesto and he had the lobster ravioli. I thought both were decent but not out of this world. The moscato is my favorite kind and if you like sweet wine this is a must try. I like to try new things and I don't think this was bad at all and I would go back.

Can't believe the rave reviews - people down here are seriously ignorant about good Italian food! make that good food in general!!! I usually go strictly classic - chicken parmesan - trying a new italian restaurant. This place failed miserably. The sauce was watery, lacking body and flavor, the pasta was so-so, but the chicken was horrible - it look, and tasted like a frozen cutlet from Costco that was then poorly cooked. It was tough as all get out. The breading had ok flavor but the chicken was tasteless and did I mention tough! The garlic rolls did taste good, a bit chewy but decent flavor, maybe a bit overly buttered, but that seems to be the style down here. My wife had a calzone that was ok - nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. Maybe they do better pizza and calzone type things than actual entrees - seems a lot of reviews talk about pizza. The wait staff was ok - not terribly friendly. The atmosphere is nothing to rave about either - I didn't get the homey Italian restaurant feel at all - pretty generic. Sorry folks - there has to be better. I would prefer carrabba's or olive garden over this place, unfortunately!

This place has attentive and friendly (and young) staff, soft and doughy garlic rolls, and delicious pizza. Little expensive, but sometimes you pay a little more for a great dining experience. Look forward to coming back for a carb-licious meal. ; )

The decor is nice and the restaurant is spacious. We ordered a spinach dip that I practically thought I could take a swim in. Pretty darn big. The waiter offered to bring more bread to dip into the crazy amount of dip leftover. We ordered the prosciutto and egg pizza and thought it was an interesting twist. Looking forward to trying some more dishes at this new spot.

My boyfriend and I just ate there and the pizza was just okay. Tastes like a regular pizza not coal fired. Anthony's is much better! Chicken wings were okay but the wing sauce tasted right out of a jar and the blue cheese dressing was horrible. We should have gone to Anthony's.

Nice new local neighborhood restaurant. The place is very nice and service was impecable! wow! We ordered pizza and it was quite nice and fresh. It was a little expensive for pizza, but considering the ambience, service and quality this will definitely be on our list of options for pizza night.

1st visit. My wife and I decide to try since it's close to our home and are always looking for good Italian food. First impression, noisy, typical "trendy" decor means just like every other new restaurant that opens. Not impressed. Noisy, 50% of the noisy was coming from the manager literally banging dough with a roller that puts holes in the flat bread. Service was good, but way too many waiters and waitresses running around looking lost. Fried calamari antipasti served undercooked and greasy. My wife ordered the stuffed peppers with pesto pasta. The peppers were barely cooked with the stuffing almost raw. The pesto sauce was good, but the pasta was hard, al dente was is an understatement. I ordered the veal parm which was made with their "Sunday gravy". The Sunday gravy was cooked so long that it was actually brown, yuk. I could have swore my veal cutlet was a chicken cutlet it was so bad. 2nd visit. My adult son and I decide to give Russo's a second chance and try the "New York" style pizza. My son started with a minestrone soup which was watery and tasteless and in his description "dishwater". I started with a Greek salad which was also tasteless despite being loaded with dressing. Not a good start. Out comes the large cheese pizza, ordered well done so it would be crispy. One bite and both knew we were in trouble. The pizza sauce is way too sweet. First thought was that they used San Marzano tomatoes, but I use San Marzano tomatoes exclusively in my home cooking and they are never this sweet. The sauce actually gave us a case of nausea The dough/crust was horrible, similar to a Papa John's or Pizza Hut not crispy at all. I grew up on real New York pizza for 24 years of my life and this pizza was nothing like it. I really can not understand anyone giving the pizza a good review, then I realized that but maybe one reviewer may really know what actual New York Style pizza tastes like. New York style pizza from a company based in Texas and with not one location in New York? Save your time and money and look elsewhere for your fix of New York style pizza because you won't find it at Russo's.

This is a customer oriented restaurant -- it was my sister's birthday and she wanted a white pizza with mushrooms and chillies. They said they would create. Staff is friendly, explains menu, is service oriented, I can't praise them enough. Quality of pizza is outstanding. Thin crust, crisp not soggy. Vegetables were fresh. Meats were first rate. I am foodie and this was one of best pizzas I have had. Congratulations to Pembroke Pines Staff and to Russos. Will look for you in California.

A lot to improve besides the good pizza. My family shared a pizza and i have asked for a pasta. The pasta had arrived 5 minutes before the pizza and the pasta was dry and hard, not al dente, besides the signs saying that the pasta is fresh. The chicken was also dry and no taste. The pizza was ok comparable to other coal pizza oven places.

Went here this weekend with my cousins. Just a note about my cousins: THEY ARE EXTREMELY PICKY (when it comes to where they eat)! Usually, I never go wrong with where they go. It's in a new shopping center with a new Whole Foods nearby. Upon entering, the establishment seemed awesome, new, and modern, but small and not very functional with space. In the back dining area, there is a huge center area that has no tables or chairs. All tables are on the sides. I just think that they should redo that area to maximize its efficiency. Anyways, there was a 25 minute wait and boy did we have to wait that! Upon seating, the waiter took forever to come. Once he did come, he took our order wrong. In addition, the appetizers came out almost with the meal. That is how long it took and we waited an additional 30 minutes for our entree's. Some had to wait longer because, as stated before, our waiter took our order wrong. My dish was fine as you can't really go wrong with it. My cousin's really did not like it. They said it was really nothing out of this world and unseasoned. Also, we asked for boxes to take home the leftovers. They brought us boxes, but no bag. Embarrassing, to say the least. Service was bad, food was not that good as hoped, and extremely pricey. Would I come here again? NO! I rate it a C-, and I am being VERY generous.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
